Everything you need to know about Vault Timer
Open Vault Timer and tap the "Build" tab. Tap "Add Exercise" to select from our library of 55+ exercises or create a custom one. Set the work duration, rest duration, and number of sets. Adjust the timing controls with the +/- buttons, then tap "Save Workout" to create your preset. You can repeat this process to build as many workouts as you need.
Vault Timer comes with 5 built-in presets designed for different sports: HIIT (30s/30s), Fat Burn (40s/20s), Strength (45s/90s), Boxing (3m rounds), and BJJ (5m rounds). You can start any preset instantly with the "Quick Start" buttons on the home screen. You can also duplicate and modify presets, or build completely custom workouts.
From the home screen, choose a preset with Quick Start, tap "Repeat Last" to run your previous workout, or tap "Build" to select a custom workout. Once selected, the timer screen appears showing your first exercise. Tap "START" to begin. The timer will guide you through each interval with voice cues and visual feedback.
Vault Timer includes 55+ pre-built exercises organized into 5 categories: Strength (squats, lunges, push-ups, etc.), Cardio (burpees, jumping jacks, mountain climbers, etc.), Core (planks, crunches, leg raises, etc.), Combat (shadow boxing, kicks, punches, etc.), and Recovery (stretches, breathing exercises, etc.). You can also create custom exercises for movements not in the library.
Vault Timer includes two professional voice packs: Brian and Amy. During a workout, the voice announces the current exercise, work/rest intervals, round count, and time remaining. You can choose which voice you prefer in settings, adjust the volume (0-100%), and toggle voice cues on/off. Voice cues respect your phone's silent/vibration mode.
When enabled in Settings, the app changes the entire screen background to match the current timer phase: green during work intervals, blue during rest, amber during the final 10 seconds, and red during the final 5 seconds. This provides immediate visual feedback without looking at the timer text. You can toggle this feature on/off anytime.
Haptic feedback is available on iPhones with the Taptic Engine (iPhone 6s and later). On older devices or if haptics are disabled in phone settings, the feature simply won't be available. You can toggle haptics on/off in the Vault Timer settings independently of your phone's system settings.
Yes. In Settings, under the "Cue Volume" slider, you can adjust voice cue volume from 0-100%. This setting is independent of your phone's volume—you can have your ringer off but still hear voice cues at your preferred level. The volume you set persists across all workouts.
Tap the "Progress" tab from the home screen to see your complete workout history. Each entry shows the workout name, date, duration, and rounds completed. You can also see your current streak (consecutive days with workouts) and total statistics. All history is stored locally on your device.
Yes, completely. Vault Timer works fully offline with no internet connection required. All features—timer, voice cues, workouts, notifications—function without internet.
